Mensah Bid -No Response From Rennes

Reading are still waiting to hear whether their ?3.5million offer for Rennes defender John Mensah has been accepted by the Ligue 1 outfit.

The Royals lodged the bid in mid-July, but are yet to receive an official response.

Mensah played well for Ghana at the recent World Cup, and his strength and pace has impressed Royals boss Steve Coppell.

Rennes are thought to be willing to sell the 23-year-old, but they appear to be waiting for other potential bidders to enter the race.
