Accra, July 7, GNA - Black Meteors creative midfielder, Mohammed Rabiu believes the team can cope without him as Ghana readies to host the 'Dream Team' of Nigeria in a crucial All African Games qualifier on Sunday.
The Meteors will be without the midfielder who scored the team's only goal in the 1-3 defeat to Nigeria in the first leg a fortnight ago in Benin City, Nigeria.
Rabui told GNA Sports there is enough quality in the team and was optimistic that qualifying at the expense on Nigeria is nonnegotiable.
"It is unfortunate I will be unavailable to play on Sunday but there is no need to be worried because the other players are very capable of holding the fort.
"It is basically down to team work and though we lost by that margin in Nigeria, we proved that we have the quality to beat them wherever we meet."
The player who has been ordered by French side Evian to report for pre-season training, told GNA Sports 93we played very well in the first leg but the score line was no true reflection of our effort.
"However, such is football and it will be our turn to make every second count. The players are hungry for qualification and I am convinced my absence will not stop them from fighting for that."
Ghana must overturn the first leg results to qualify for the quadrennial gathering billed to take place in Maputo, Mozambique in September.
The Meteors walk into Sunday's game knowing that even though personnel have changed from both the players and the technical team that was bundled out of the Olympic Games qualifier by Sudan; it has to be a must win on Sunday to restore the country's hope and image and to reverse the recent losses.
