Micheal Osei back from Germany

Controversial Asante Kotoko striker, Michael Osei returned home last Friday after two days of trials with German Division Two side, Aachen. Osei was spotted by our reporters at the Kotoka International Airport in the company of local agent Larbi after their arrival from Dusseldorf aboard a Ghana Airways flight.

Soccer Express can confirm that Osei was in Aachen for only two days but it could not be immediately confirmed if the coach of the club, Jorg Perger was happy with the player's output.

Cash-strapped Aachen are placed in the middle of the Division Two league and require an offensive minded player who can improve their goal scoring woes. Osei who has since returned to Kumasi and played in the SWAG Cup first leg match against Liberty Professionals last week has had a series of unsuccessful attempts at clinching international contracts, the most controversial of them being his abortive move to Korean K-League side Busan Icons.

Osei signed a one-year contract worth $100,000 with the Korean club making an upfront payment of $40,000.
But there is confusion over how the $40,000 was expended. While Osei says only $5,000 of the money actually came to him with $10,000 being dedicated to obtaining an International Transfer Certificate for him, his agents who include the lawyer of former Kotoko coach Ian Porterfield, Kwasi Afrifa say they took $25,000 as their percentage for arranging the $100,000 deal.
Though the deal has fallen through the people who took 25% of his contract sum have dumped Osei and now Busan Icons is demanding its money back. Osei in an interview before he travelled to Germany accused the Soccer Express of publishing stories to tarnish his reputation. Interestingly it is Osei who was lured into signing several documents with the Korean club and should they institute legal action he stands alone as the person who took the $40,000. The management of Kotoko say they are prepared to pay to the Koreans an amount of $5,000 purported to have been returned by Osei who has since signed a new three-year contract with the club.
Osei is on record as saying the previous management treated him poorly hence his failure to sign a new contract even though his current fitness is largely due to his being flown to South Africa for a fitness check late last year by the management he now chooses to malign.
