A goal on 90 minutes by Frank Mensah was all Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs needed to win the three points at stake in their second match of the on going national middle league against Kpando Heart of Lions played at the nations Wembley, Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

The game, which ended 2-1 in Dwarfs' favour, saw the Lions scoring first through Samuel Yeboah in the 67th minute after an exciting goalless first half game.

Lions who needed to win this game to keep their aspirations of gaining entry into this year's premiership could not maintain their lead as they were exposed in stamina by the former premier league campaigners.

Having wasted most of the chances they created in the first three quarters of the game, it was Nana Brew Battlers' boys' turn to teach the Voltarians how to finish hard.

Dwarfs fought hard to cancel Lions' goal with seven minutes to go, through petit Ernest Adu after second choice goalkeeper Abdul Ibrahim Ganiwu had spilled the ball after catching a harmless floater in the box.

The goal, which gave Dwarfs enough confidence up front, saw their attacking machinery revolving around Ekow Ghansah creating numerous chances in their quest for the match winner.

Their effort was rewarded when keeper Ganiwu who had replaced injured Amamoo William in the 70th minute again blundered and parried the ball onto the path of Mensah to score the match winner with a long range shot from outside the vital area.

The win therefore consolidates Dwarfs' lead on the table with a maximum six points from two matches
