Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah has said he wants to repay the perseverance of manager Tony Mowbray following his transfer from Bristol City. Adomah signed a three-year deal at the Riverside for an undisclosed fee, ending the Teessiders' long-term pursuit of his signature.
"He's been keeping tabs on me for the past two years," Adomah told BBC Tees. "Eventually he did get me so I have to do well for him now. Hopefully I'll provide for him."
Adomah added: "It puts a bit of pressure on but, when a manager wants and signs you, that means he's up for you."
The 25-year-old joins a Boro side yet to win in their first two outings of the season, notably being dumped out of the Capital One Cup by League Two side Accrington in midweek.
That result came on the back of defeat by Leicester on the opening day, with the Foxes coming back from a goal down.
"That's Championship football, anything can happen in the first few games," the Ghana international added.
"You can win three on the bounce, lose all three, win one, draw one, lose one but unfortunately in this case we lost two.
"It's only one game of 46 in the league so there's still plenty of games to go. We can probably lose 10 and still win the league, so we've got to keep focused and put it right now."
