Ghanaian defender Mike Owusu has revealed that he turned down a move to Second Division side Stoke City to join Dutch outfit NEC Nijmegen from Swedes Orgryte.
The versatile African has signed an 18-month deal with the Dutch side after impressing on trials in Holland.
Owusu said that he had turned down an offer from England with Stoke City to play with the KPN Eredivisie side.
"It feels perfect," said Owusu. "It is very nice club who seem to play attractive football.
"I am in very bad shape, there hasn't been much winter training. I probably need three to four weeks to get into form."
