Mine Stars official weeps like a baby

Accra, March 18, GNA - Alhaji Musah, an official of Prestea Mine Stars could not help but weep like a baby as he saw his side being humiliated by Sekondi Hasaacas with an incredible score-line of 5-1 in their play-off match at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra on Friday.

Alhaji Musah laid prostrate on the ground and started weeping when the match was put beyond his side after they conceded the third unanswered goal just after the second half resumed.

Attempts by cameramen in the inner perimeter to take a shot of him resulted in a confrontation from other officials of the team who resisted the attempt but the cameramen managed to get a picture of him as his colleagues lifted him from the ground.

The match which was to determine which of the two side's would pick the last slot for the 2005 Ghana Telecom Premier League, saw Mine Stars picking two balls from their net in the first half and three in the concluding parts of the game.

Moses Andoh opened the scores under one minute when he connected a cross from Ellis Sam, whilst Peter Essien headed home Saliu Muntari's cross in the 16th minute to end the first half.

On resumption of the second half, Isaac Anderson latched on a loose ball way outside the edge of the box to deliver a grounder that surprisingly beat Eric Asare for the third goal.

The Premier League side never relented in their efforts to increase the tally and succeed in doing so in the 71st minute when Essien was on target again to connect home another cross from Sam that left keeper Asare way off his mark.

The Miners fought hard and got a consolation goal through Dan Addo in the 82nd minute but Ephraim Messy of Hasaacas completed the day for his side with a fifth goal four minutes later.

Hasaacas have thus maintained their Premiership status for the 2005 soccer season amid drumming and dancing from their vociferous supporters team officials.
