Hearts coach Mohammed Polo has hailed his side's first win in four games as "very important."
The Phobians dominated and beat Bechem United 2-1 in Accra on Sunday to draw level on 41 points with Heart of Lions in the battle for the second CAF Champions League spot.
Goals from midfielder Emmanuel Hayford and center back Robin Gnagne helped the Rainbow Club to their 12th win of the 26 match-old campaign, a win that also meant they have completed the double over Bechem (after winning the corresponding fixture 1-0 in the first round).
It was also Hearts' first win after suffering three consecutive losses. "This win was very important because of what we've been through," a relieved Polo told pressmen at the post match press conference.
"It looks very clear how this win has motivated us - me and the boys - to put in more in the coming games," he added. Hearts are away to Hasaacas on Sunday, a match they will hope to win to boost their chances of beating Lions who to the coveted second spot.
