Moroccan referees arrive for big match

Accra, Nov 25, GNA - The nominated Moroccan match officials by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the postponed Confederation Cup final at the Accra Sports Stadium between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko are scheduled to arrive in the country this Thursday evening.

The officials who obviously are unaware about the new developments are expected to arrive at the Kotoka International Airport aboard a Lufthansa flight at exactly 6:45 GMT.

The referee Guezzaz Mohamed-led officials are expected to be met on arrival by Alhaji Brimah Suleman, Protocol Director of Accra Hearts of Oak and some officials of the club.

Hearts are expected to host the three North Africans, Guezzaz, and his assistants, Juddiouui Abdel Majid and Ayoab Mohammed till they fly out on Monday.

Meanwhile, Niambele Tidiani of Mali and Ojoba Bolaji of Nigeria who were to act as the Match Commissioner and the General Coordinator of the match respectively are also expected later in day.

Referee Guezzaz was mandated to direct affairs from the middle of the historic match originally scheduled for Sunday, November 28 and Saturday, December 11 at the Accra and Kumasi Sports Stadia respectively.

Guezzaz who is best remembered for his competence in officiating the 2002 Japan/Korea World Cup involving Spain and Slovenia was to be assisted by Majid and Ayoab on lines one and two respectively.
