Muntari reflects on Sunderland debut

Sulley Muntari was left bitterly disappointed after he was robbed of a debut win at the Britannia Stadium.

Sunderland looked on course for victory in the Potteries but were downed by two late goals to leave the Ghanaian pondering what might have been.

The midfielder impressed on his Sunderland bow but felt the fact the visitors controlled the game for long spells made the defeat especially galling.

"It is not a good feeling right now," he admitted. "We wanted the three points of course and it was important to try to win here.

"At the same time we played good football but we are not happy with the result.

"We controlled the game for long spells and that's why we are having a lot of pain now.

"Stoke only kicked the ball in the air but they are strong.

"It's a little bit sad but we have a good manager and good players here so we can bounce back."

But Muntari, who won a domestic and European treble with Inter Milan last season, has immediately set his sights on bouncing back against Spurs next week.

"Now it is our job to move on from this," he explained. "You have go with it. If you lose a game, that is not the end of the life.

"We go back home to prepare for Spurs, which is a game we want to win at all costs, for sure."
