Ghana winger Sulley Muntari has expressed sadness at the imminent departure of his team-mate Fernando Torres from AC Milan.
The former Liverpool striker was expected to make his loan move from Chelsea to AC Milan permanent on January 5, but seems to be on the verge of sealing another loan stint with his boyhood club Atletico Madrid.
“It’s a pity that he’s leaving because he’s one of the top players. We’ve had a great six months with him, but that’s part of football, you get moved to another club and exchanged like food, it’s normal, it’s part of it. I just wish him luck and hope that he becomes the Torres we all know he is,” Muntari said in Dubai.
Torres could play his last game for AC Milan in Tuesday’s friendly against Real Madrid in Dubai.
