AC Milan star Sulley Muntari wants to start with a win on Sunday against Lazio.
Muntari celebrated his 30th birthday on Wednesday and will step on the San Siro pitch along with his teammates to start the 2014/15 Serie A.
“We want to do well in this new season. There is a lot of enthusiasm here. The air we breathe is positive. We want to finish and end well,” Muntari told the Milan Channel today.
“The victory in the TIM Trophy was good and we did what the coached asked us of and it showed on Saturday.
“Now the season begins and that’s what we want this year. We have no excuses, we want to do well. We can never give up and we must keeping running and that’s that.
“The group? Andrea Poli is right, the spirit of the group is important and we want to grow from this point of view. We have to work hard.
“Essien? He’d had a good preparation thanks to the coach who makes everyone feel good. Michael has so much experience and he can help. The match against Lazio will be difficult, even more because it’s just the start. We look forward to them, and we just want to take the field, we have a great hunger.”
