Mr Albert Agbozo, Acting Chief Executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) on Tuesday appealed to the supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak to exercise maximum restraint when the club play host to Stade d' Malien of Mali in the second leg of the CAF champions league at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
"This is the time for supporters of Hearts to display all the positive things about the popular Ghanaian hospitality".
Officials of Hearts were subjected to series of harassment during the first leg match in Mali two weeks ago as supporters of the Malian team tried to prevent them from training at the Madibo Keita Stadium.
Mr Agbozo who spoke to the GNA Sports said fans must also show high sense of sportsmanship by refraining from any act of vengeance, adding that adequate security will be provided to check any fan who tries to engage in act of violence.
The NSC boss urged the fans to show maturity and forget about what happened to the team in Mali but rather troop to the stadium in their numbers to cheer the team unto victory.
The first leg match ended in a goalless drawn game even after various forms of harassment from the Malian fans as well as bad officiating of the said match.
The purported experience of the team has brought in its wake, a public outcry with mixed feelings against the treatment meted to the Hearts team with the die hard supporters asking for a possible retaliation.
