Manchester City prodigy Divine Naah has admitted being under pressure to perform due to the club’s big status.

The 19-year-old old joined the Sky Blues from Ghanaian side Right to Dream Academy in 2014 but has since been forced out on loan to attain first team experience.

The Obuasi-born currently plays for Dutch second tier side NAC Breda.

“In a way, I feel pressure, but it is not the full pressure,” Naah told Cross the line.

“Manchester City have a lot of money so they can sign a lot of players. If you want to make it to the first team, you have to be performing at the highest level.

‘I’m on loan, but they have a lot of players based in Manchester as well. That puts pressure on you to play well, but all you can do is keep working hard and see what happens. It is a goal for me to get there, but I know it is very difficult.

“Personally, it’s my goal [to play with the first team], but I have other dreams too - such as to play in the Champions League and to play in the other top leagues. If I don’t get to play for City, I hope to fulfil those other dreams [elsewhere].”

After joining the Premier League side, Naah first transferred to Norwegian side Stromsgodset in 2014, before heading to then Eredivisie outfit NAC the following year.

The Yellow Army were, however, relegated from the Dutch top flight after the midfielder’s first season.

Naah boasts of 19 appearances and two goals in the Eerste Divisie this campaign.
