New Date For Division One League

The Division One League (DOL) Board has rescheduled the commencement of the sub-middle league to next Saturday, November 29.

This was disclosed to the Graphic yesterday by the Chairman of the DOL Board, Mr Douglas Djarbeng, after a meeting last Tuesday.

According to Mr Djarbeng, the postponement has be necessitated by a pending protest case involving Fauzan FC and Samartex. The sub-middle league was originally scheduled to kick-off this Saturday.

According to the DOL Board Chairman, the Fauzan protest against Samartex over the use of an unqualified player is the only case which is now holding the competition back after the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Ghana Football Association had dealt with two other cases last Tuesday.

He revealed that the committee dismissed the Bafana protest against Ebusua Dwarfs while the case involving Khalid and Deelorm Royals was struck out after the former had failed to report.

However, the Fauzan-Samartex case was rescheduled for today after the committee had requested for further information on the matter.

The outcome of the case could be crucial in the Zone 2B qualifiers as victory for Fauzan would mean making it to the sub-middle league at the expense of Dwarfs. In spite of the delay, Mr Djarbeng maintains that they are still within time as they made provision for such inconveniences.
