New GHALCA IMC introduced

The Interim Management Committee of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) was last Friday introduced to the media during the launch of the 2011 President’s Cup to be played between league winners Berekum Chelsea and runners-up Kumasi Asante Kokoto at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday July 1 st.

They are made up of Alhaji Raji as chairman, Lawyer Kweku Ayiah vice chairman, John Ansah, Oduro Nyarko and Vincent Sowah Odotei.

According to the chairman, GHALCA has entered into a new phase and football fans will experience the new era of commitment and responsibility that will make people work harder to produce positive results.

Being a veteran football administrator working under various top personalities like Nana Sam Brew Butler, Ben Koufie, Nyaho Tamakloe, Kwesi Nyantakyi and Fred Pappoe for a long time, Alhaji Raji seems very prepared for the task to put the local game in a better shape.

He said the President’s Cup will be the test and after that many things will be done in a more proactive and success oriented manner.

He thanked the sports media for the support and publicity and also congratulated his executive members for their resourcefulness and willingness to may their job a success.

The GHALCA formerly called OGLA, has gone through several managements and administrators. The current Administrative Manager is Kurtz Simon Okraku, a sports journalist and football manager. The GHALCA staff has also been faithful over the years and the office remains one of the best kept.
