Accra, Feb 9, GNA - The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Thursday recorded their second victory over Senegal at the on-going Africa Cup of Nations to win the third place position. Garba Lawal, who had his first full time action since the competition commenced, was well placed in the vital area of Senegal to connect home a cross from the right flank in the 78th minute. The goal however seemed to have gingered the Senegalese to fight for the equaliser but found it hard to go pass the steely-Nigerian defence to accomplish their mission.

Earlier in the group stages of the competition, Senegal lost 1-2 to Nigeria after taking an early lead. The victory therefore confirms the dominance of Nigeria over their West African counterparts.
