Nii Lamptey fails to show

Former Black Starlets wonder kid Nii Odartey Lamptey, failed to join the National team despite receiving a call up by coach Fred Osam Duodu. The 1991 World Youth Player of the year, who currently plays for Chinese club Shandong, claims he received the Black Stars invitation late which meant he could not make it.

Lamptey was expected to join his colleagues as they prepare for their World Cup match against Sudan in Accra, however with this snub from Lamptey, coach Osam is expected to rule him out of his plans.

Lamptey's last appearance in the Black Stars team was in 1996, when he played in the African Cup of Nations hosted by South Africa.
