The Public Relations manager for Medeama SC, Ebenezer Aidoo says the club has received no approach from Premier League champions Asante Kotoko for the services of winger Richard Mpong.
Asante Kotoko is said to be eyeing Mpong as a valuable addition to the squad for next year’s CAF Champions Leagu, but Aidoo told footy-ghana.com that the club is yet to receive any approaches from Kotoko.
‘We have not received any approach for Mpong from Asante Kotoko. Normally the club would have sent us a letter, but we have received no such correspondence.’
Aidoo also told footy-ghana.com that Mpong has just signed a two-year contract extension, adding that plans are also far advanced to get the national winger a move abroad.
‘Mpong has just extended his contract by two years. So unless he moves abroad, he will play with Medeama SC for the next two seasons. We are looking at the option of getting him a club overseas and indeed any local club interested in him would have to talk to us.’
Already left back Alhaji Nurudeen and midfielder Emmanuel Dogbe have secured deals abroad and have since left the club.
