Asante Kotoko acting CEO Opoku Nti says the club have no excuse to fail in Africa next year.
The Porcupine Warriors last won the African Cup of Champions Clubs (now Champions League) back in 1983.
Kotoko have been woeful in the continent’s flagship competition since then and crashed to minnows Barrack Young Controllers this year.
Nti claims they will correct their mistakes and stage a strong campaign in the Champions League next year.
“We all suffer when Kotoko suffer in Africa but we have to improve. Our performance of late has been unacceptable and we are not happy about that,” Nti told GHANAsoccernet.com
“We will have to improve the playing body, work hard from both the technical and managerial point of view and die a little for our beloved club.
“The league is still a work in progress and we have won nothing yet. Once the league and the FA Cup are wrapped up we will start work in earnest to make the squad whole and fit for Africa.”
Kotoko, who have a ten-point lead, hold the aces to win the Ghana Premier League.
