A member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) medical committee Dr Prince Pambo says there is no need to panic over CAF’s age-eligibility test for the national U17 team.

CAF will conduct a mandatory age-cheating test on Friday for all the eight teams who will be competing from the 13-27 April tournament in Morocco.

The Ghana FA ensured each player selected in the Ghana U17 team was MRI certified before the qualifiers were played last year.

”For Ghana, there isn’t any cause for alarm because all the players who went were taken through MRI scanning,” Dr Prince Pambo told Joy FM.

“In fact 100 players were scanned here in Ghana before we finally got the right age and gave to the coach out of which he selected his 21-man squad,” he explained.

The Black Starlets will open their African Junior Championship campaign against Nigeria on 13 April before playing Congo and Ivory Coast in Group B.

Ghana must finish as one of the best two teams in the pool to qualify for this year’s FIFA U17 World Cup in UAE.
