Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chairman, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe,has said that the recent conduct of members of GHALCA suggests that they don?t have the interest of Ghana football at heart.Rather, he said their actions have only given them away as persons wanting to settle scores on personal terms without a just cause.

?The fact that GHALCA has threatened to withdraw their financial obligation to the FA demostrates clearly that their interest does not coincide with the interest of the wider national goals,? Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe told the Graphic in an interview last Wednesday.

He said the position assumed by GHALCA shows that ?they have taken the matter personally, as if it is a fight between Nyaho and GHALCA. If tomorrow I am not there will they reverse their decision?? he asked.GHALCA this week was reported to have threatened to withdraw all financial contributions to the FA, citing the FA chairman?s recent trip to meet Black Stars players ahead of the team?s clash with DR Congo as unnecessary use of the association?s funds.

But Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe told the Graphic in an interview that his meeting with the players was at the request of stop-gap coach, Sam Arday, upon assumption of office after Portuguese Mariano Barreto quit the job unceremoniously last September. He said Coach Arday stated clearly at a meeting with the management board that the visit was important to psyche the players ahead of the game in the wake of the unexpected departure of the former coach.

He said GHALCA also misfired on their allegations that he signs cheques of the FA without going through the due process. He said he had never signed any cheque of the FA without going through the due processes.

?In fact, when cheques are to be signed for assignments outside Accra or the country, I call the general Secretary to brief me about the laid-down procedures,? adding that this is a process that has guided his actions regarding financial appropriations of the FA?s funds since he assumed office
