Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Alex Nyarko has turned an offer from the new coach of the Black Stars Bukhard Ziese to return to the national team.

A source close to the German coach has revealed that one of the main aims of Ziese was to recall some Ghanaian players who are currelty playing competitive football in Europe. The source revealed that Alex Nyarko flatly turned down the offer to return saying he wants to concentrate on playing for his French first division team Paris Saint-Germain.Ziese spoke with Nyarko last week in a telephone conversation from his base in Germany.

Alex Nyarko retired from playing international football some 3 years ago for unknown reasons. In the wake of the trouble he had at Everton in 1991,the 29 year old claimed he would retire early and write a book.Nyarko's miserable time at Goodison Park hit rock bottom when he was confronted by a fan infuriated by his perceived lack of effort in the 4-1 defeat against Arsenal in April of 2001.The giant Ghanaian instantly announced he was quitting football, only to later modify his decision and claim he was only quitting Goodison Park.

Bukhard Ziese will now concentrate on the younger Ghanaian midfieders who are currently playing competitive football in Europe.
