Nyarko looks to Norway

Wed, 2 Mar 2005 Source: --

Former Everton midfielder Alex Nyarko is aiming to resurrect his career in Norway.
Nyarko has been without a club since he was released from the final year of his Toffees contract last summer.
The Ghanaian was cut adrift by Everton boss David Moyes after he was refused a work permit to see out the final 12 months of his deal. During the winter, he trained with Middlesbrough and was also linked with a switch to Premiership strugglers Southampton.
But Nyarko has now headed to Scandinavia in search of a new team after linking up with Norwegian side Start.
He will spend a few days looking to impress the Start coaching staff ahead of the commencement of the new Norwegian season.
Nyarko had joined Everton in 2000 in a ?4.5 million deal from Lens but an altercation with a Toffees supporter at Highbury in April 2001 seemed to bring an end to his Goodison Park career.
