Nyinasin (C/R), Nov. 17, GNA - Nyinasin Mighty Warriors played a good game to pip Cape Coast Royal Stars 1-0 in the Cape Coast District Under 17 Colts League match played at Nyinasin on Tuesday. After a goalless first half, Warriors came back strongly to score the only goal of the match in the 60th minute, through their midfielder Alex Mensah and that turned out to be the match winner.
Royal Stars after the goal forced Warriors to play defensively in their own half and made frantic efforts to equalize but all their attempts at goal failed to find the net.
Warriors also won the Under 14 encounter 2-1 and lost heavily with a 0-4 score-line to Royal Stars in their Under 12 match. In the Under 17 match, Astronomers drew 0-0 with Shantels and also drew 1-1 with Shantels in the Under 12 match and again lost 1-2 to Shantels in the Under 14 encounter.
In another development, Great Halifax will clash with Sonturk in the fifth week of the Cape Coast District Colts League, which comes on at all the league centres on Sunday, November 20.
According to the fixtures released by the Cape Coast District Football Committee on Wednesday, Paa Badu Stars will meet Astronomers at Efutu. Shantels will vie with Sultan at Adisadel, Royal Stars would face King Karmel at the Cape Coast Technical Institute sports grounds while Citrus meet Liverpool at Nyinasin.
Liberty will meet Young Eagles at the Mfantsipim Secondary School sports grounds, Oguaa United will vie with Schalke O4 at Victoria Park, Wise lock horns with Friends Babies, Super Rainbow meet Odomankoma at the University of Cape Coast sports grounds while Dwarfs meet AOC 95 at the St. Augustine's College sports grounds.
