Ajax trainer Ronald Koeman has stated that Ghana's Anthony Obodai and Cedric van der Gun will both be given a fair chance to gain a place in Ajax's first team squad. Both players spent loan periods at other clubs last season, Van der Gun was sent to Eredivisie outfit Willem II and Obodai to Belgian outfit Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen.
Both players excelled at their new clubs and Koeman believes the midfielders are ready to shine in Amsterdam.
In an interview on Ajax's website Koeman said: "Cedric was not 100 percent fit when I became coach. He will get a chance but if I think that during training that his chances are small, we will sit down again. Obodai made a good impression at the end of last season, therefore for this reason I cleared a place for him for pre-season."
