Former Coach of Amidaus Professionals Tony Lokko has hailed the performance of Black Satellites goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi.
The 19-year-old has excelled at the ongoing FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Turkey with some heroic performances that has kept Ghana in the competition.
Eric and the Ghana back line have conceded ten goals in the competition, but the goalkeeper has come up with some brilliant saves.
Tony Lokko who gave the Liberty Professional’s trainee the chance at Amidaus told XYZ Sports that the youngster has made a good name for himself with his fantastic saves.
“Eric has done so well, he has been excellent so far and he has proven why he’s the number one goalkeeper at Amidaus. It’s my prayer that his exploits will help the team achieve the ultimate at the championships,” he said.
Ofori Antwi beat Medeama goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe and Michael Annan of Asante Kotoko to the number one spot back in March at the African Youth competition and has since maintained his good form.
His fascinating display has earned him a place among the best goalkeepers rated by the FIFA technical study group.
Coach Lokko added: “beating Annan Muntari and Sai to the number one spot is not a joke. He has vindicated the coaches for the confidence reposed in him. Eric has a bright future and I hope that he gets to the highest pinnacle in his career".
