Francis Anum has resigned his post as chairman of second tier club Okwahu United. Anum’s resignation follows the club’s failure to qualify to the Ghanaian top flight.

Okwahu’s inconsistent form in the Middle League playoffs saw them ultimately lose the sole Zone 3 qualification slot to Inter Allies.

The failed Ghana Premier League return dream resulted in a mini-revolt within the fans of the Nkawkaw-based side.

But Anum insists his decision to resign is solely based on personal and family reasons.

“Yes, I have resigned, but not because of the club’s failure to qualify for the Premier League,” he said.

“I have not had the needed support from some members of my family and without that you and I know it will be difficult for me.

“I have, therefore, decided to resign so as to make my family happy again.” Anum, however, says his support for the side remains intact.

“I remain a supporter of the club, but I only ask for my decision to be respected,” he added.
