Accra, Nov. 2, GNA -- Division One league side, Okwawu United has noted with shock the call for adequate security by the Division League Board (DOLB) ahead of their Sunday clash against Seven United at the Nkwawkaw Stadium.

It said its management is especially shocked by the DOLB's call on the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and the District Security Council (DISEC) to secure the match from violence and believe the request was premied on the request of Seven United.

Mr S. Oduro-Nyarko, Secretary to the Club in a statement copied to the GNA Sports, said 'We think there is no basis for this bad precedent and the latest development is uncalled for, which has only heightened tension for the match.'

According to Mr Oduro-Nyarko, even though there is a supposed feud between Nana Aboagye Dumas, former Chairman of Okwawu United, Nana Ntiri Dankyi and some supporters of the Club with regards to the way the former Chairman parted ways with the club, the situation has been brought to normalcy.

=93It was therefore unfortunate for the former Chairman who now heads Seven United to threaten the peace among our supporters and create unnecessary tension ahead of the game.

He said what is worrying is that Seven United did not even have the courtesy to give notice to the home team of a copy of the petition and described the call as uncalled for.

Mr Oduro-Nyarko therefore appealed to the supporters of the Club to stay calm and ignore the request for security and attend the match in their numbers to support their idol club in the most peaceful manner before during and after the match.
