Opoku Agyemang out for 6 months

Young Ghana international Opoku Agyemang has been ruled out of action for six months following a cruciate ligament injury. The 19 year old sustained the injury playing for his Qatar side Al-Sadd against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the Asian Champions’ League on Wednesday. Al Hilal beat the home side 3-0 The injury also certainly also rules the shining youngster out of the 2010 World Cup where he had his primed on after excelling with the Black Stars at the just-ended African Cup of Nations in Angola.

But Opoku Agyemang who was also an integral player in the Black Satellites side which won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt last year, will miss the global football fiesta slated for South Africa as well as the rest of the Qatari League season.

Now he has to wait for an operation with a French surgeon on March 6 to know the actual extent of damage but Al-Sadd team physicians believe it will rule him out of action for not less than six months.
