Black Stars wide midfielder, Nana Opoku Ampomah, was the saviour on the day for Waasland-Beveren by scoring in the 52nd minute to draw his side level against Sporting Charleroi at the Freethielstadion.
Sporting Charleroi took the lead in the 19th minute through V.Osimhen.
But after holding on to the lead till halftime, the away side couldn’t contain the pressure anymore from Waasland-Beveren in the second half as Ghana’s Nana Opoku Ampomah fetched the equalizer just seven minutes into the second half.
Sporting Charleroi received two red cards in the second half with Illaimaharitra and Porbert receiving their marching orders in the 49th and 90th minute respectively.
Waasland-Beveren are 15th on the Belgium First Division A league table with 5 points after eight games.
