Osam Invites 21 Players For World Cup Qualifier

The care-taker coach of the senior national team, Fred Osam Duodu, has invited twenty-one players including six Ghanaian internationals to begin preparations for Ghana's World Cup qualifier against the Lone Star of Liberia in Freetown on July 1.

Three new local players Yaw Owusu, Kenneth Ababio and Aminu Musah all of Obuasi Goldfields would replace the Hearts of Oak duo of Amankwah Mireku and Lawrence Adjah Tetteh, who are on suspension for receiving three yellow cards.


A former starlet player Nii Odartey Lamptey now based in China is among the six foreign player joining the squad He last played for the national team in 1996.


Sturm Graz striker, Charles Amoah, Stephen Appiah of AC Parma, Uniaro Liera's Emmanuel Duah, Baffour Gyan of Czech side, Slovan Liberic and George Blay of Belgian side Circle Brugges.

Among the local players invited are Kofi Amoako, Princeton Owusu Ansah, Stephen Amo, Isaac Boakye all of Obuasi Goldfieds. Players called from Hearts of Oak are James Nanor and Sammy Adjei both goalkeepers, Jacob Nettey, Joe Ansah and Charles Taylor.


Asante Kotoko's Lawrence Adjei, Godwin Ablordey, Nana Frimpong, Isaac Owusu, Osei Boateng a goalkeeper and Godfred Yeboah.


Other players called up by Osam Duodu are George Essilfie of Great Olympics, Hamza Mohammend from Real Tamale United and Issa Mohammend of Sekondi Hasaacas.
