90 MINUTES can exclusively reveal that striker Osei Pele’s search for a club has ended as he departs the country this week to begin a new career with Adana Demirspor in Turkey.
We can also disclose that Osei Pele and former Medeama SC player, Mahadi Abubakar will make the trip after both had their visa applications granted by the Turkish Consulate in Accra last week.
Turkey giants, Galatasaray were the first to invite Osei Pele to the European country for a 3-month assessment but promotion chasing 1.Lig side, Demirspor who already have another former Hearts of Oak star, defender Karim Alhassan in their fold, have stepped in to lure the youngster with a more lucrative and permanent deal.
Pele burst into prominence after chiefly his goals powered Hearts of Oak to the pre-season top 4 title in 2010 but he never again got the platform he so craved for the Phobians to give him.
Rejected to the sidelines for more than two seasons without kicking a ball for Hearts, Pele and the Accra giants finally parted ways by mutual consent at the end of 2011/12 season and has remained clubless since until Demirspor decided to take a gamble on him now.
Now the goal poacher tells 90 MINUTES he is only desperate to relaunch his career.
“I will leave everything to God, only he knows what is best for me. I have my own targets and they are many but I’m looking up to God to help me succeed,” Pele told 90 MINUTES.
He added: “I’m going in with all the determination to help my team and also hope for a big move. Playing for Barcelona or Manchester United are my ultimate targets, until then I must keep working hard.”
