Borussia Dortmund striker Otto Addo is set to make his first competitive appearance since July 2001 in Thursday's Uefa Cup clash with Lille.

Addo has been out of action since tearing his cruciate ligaments in pre-season but has made a timely return to fitness as Czech striker Jan Koller is suspended.

"Otto has trained very well and I believe he really deserves a chance," said coach Matthias Sammer.

Another player who has been given the green light by Dortmund medical staff is former Fiorentina wing-back Jorg Heinrich.

He is expected to fill in the gap left by the cup-tied Sebastien Kehl after recovering from a thigh strain.
