Accra, Feb. 24, GNA - The Premier League Board (PLB) has approved the venue switch request for League debutants, Tudu Mighty Jets. Jordan Anagblah, Chairman of Tudu Mighty Jets told GNA Sports on Thursday that the Club will from now honour their home games in Akosombo after the PLB approved their request to switch venue in a communiqu=E9 received mid Thursday.

This is the second time Jets has switched venues after initially abandoning the El-Wak Park for the Accra Sports Stadium, citing difficultie= s with custodians of the Military arena.

Mighty Jets struggled to make gains at the gates in their new home at the National Stadium in Accra and are hoping their new base at Akosombo wil= l maximize proceeds since there is no Club in the top flight or the Premier League from the Eastern Region.

The PLB had put on hold the switch subjecting it to a clearance or otherwise from the Ghana Football Association (GFA). The practice of change of venue has become synonymous with struggling clubs in the Premier League in recent times, but the PLB has stated that such a request will be approved only after careful scrutiny. Abra-Appiah, Chairman of PLB also told GNA Sports that a venue switch will be approved after a critical examination of some factors, including financial and economic status of the proposed venue, security of fans and officials, availability of changing rooms and security personnel as well as the right timing. He said it is appropriate for Clubs to communicate their desires eithe= r before the commencement of the season or within the season for possible switches. Jets has earlier considered the Tema Stadium but quenched the desire due to the non-availability of dressing rooms, a requirement by the PLB.
