Blackstars and Fulham defender ,John Paintsil has donated $20,000 as prizes for a special competition organised by his Foundation . The competition which is scheduled to kick-off at the Golden city park in Berekum on Sunday, July 11 brings together Berekum Arsenals, BA United, Berlin FC and Bofoakwa Tano.
It has a prize money of $10,000 for the winners with the runners-up earning $5,000.
The third and fourth place teams will take home $3,000 and $2,000 respectively.
John Paintsil, organiser of the competition told www.myghananews.com ,there will be no participating fees for any of the clubs.
"I want to see the strongest team in the region grabbing the $10,000 on the field of play"
According to John Paintsil, the four teams have the luxury of fielding five guest players each in the competition.
Touching on the sharing of the gate proceeds, John Paintsil said "unless otherwise agreed upon by all parties, all net gate proceeds will have to go to a charity home of his choice.
"This is to thank the people of Brong Ahafo for the support i have enjoyed from them over the years.
Especially their prayers during South Africa 2010 and also prepare the clubs for the Premier league season and the division one league season".
John Paintsil started his career from Berekum Arsenals in 2002 before joining Dansoman based Liberty Proffessionals in 2004.
