Ghana defender John Pantsil feels heartbroken after Santos failed to gain promotion to the South African top-flight.
Pantsil, 32, joined the South African second-tier side on a six-month deal as a free agent.
The former Fulham man tried unsuccessfully to qualify the side back to the elite division and feels disappointed with the turn of event.
“It’s a big blow for Santos Fc not to have made it to the top flight and I am heartbroken about it,” he said
“This is what football can do to you, but I am happy I joined them and I believe they will get better next season."
The Ghanaian international has confirmed he will not be extending his stay with the club.
