Defender John Pantsil will become the third Ghanaian to make a fifth appearance at the African Cup of Nations.

The Hapoel Tel Aviv ace could equal the record held by legend Abedi Pele and goalkeeper Richard Kingson.

The 30-year-old shot into prominence after he helped the country’s Under-20 team to clinch silver at the 2001 African Youth Championship in Argentina.

He made his Black Stars Nations Cup debut at the 2002 Cup of Nations held in Mali and has since not looked back.

He has consistently been part of the team in the cup of Nations for the past years and could be in line to represent the West African giants at the international level for a fifth consecutive year.

The experienced right back is now the most consistent player in the Black Stars for the past ten years.

He has 86 caps to his name and could surpass Richard Kingson’s 90 appearance for the Black Stars.
