Pawpaw farmer donates sports equipment to club

Nsawam, July 5, GNA - Mr. Daniel Agyare, alias Odabor a pawpaw farmer of Nkyene-Nkyene Amanfro, a community near Nsawam in the Akuapem South District on Sunday presented several sports equipment worth about 10 million cedis to United Babies of Nkyene-Nkyene Amanfro.

The items included two footballs, two sets of jerseys, two sets of boots, two sets of hose, two whistles and a first aid box.

Mr. Agyare said it was his personal donation towards sports development in the Akuapem South District.

Mr. Alex Asare, captain of the team who receiving the items on behalf of the team expressed appreciation to the donor and appealed to other philanthropists and sports enthusiasts to contribute towards sports development in the area.

In a friendly football match to climax the occasion, United Babies beat Odeikrom Great Ankor 3-1.

The first half recorded two goals through centre forward Eric Ansah with a header and a spot-kick in the 35th and 40th minutes while inside left Gomaye Kwadjo increased the scores to three for United Babies in the 66th minute.

Striker Abudul Joseph of Great Ankor managed to reduce the score to 3-1 for his side in the dying minutes of the match. 05 July 04
