Coach of Accra Hearts of oak, Nebojsa Vucicevic says he is ready to quit if the fans no longer want him at the football club.
The Serbian trainer has come under intense pressure from the club supporters following a recent run of poor results.
He was prevented from presiding over Friday’s training session by irate fans who have asked management for his immediate dismissal.
Board Member Frank Nelson however passed his vote of confidence over the weekend and said Vucicevic will continue to enjoy support from the board and management in the face of the intense pressure.
Vucicevic has now come out to say he would have no problem walking if the fans make it clear enough he is not needed at the club.
“Before I came here Hearts finished fourth or fifth position and this season we aim for the top,” he told Accra-based XYZ.
“If the fans are not happy with me and are convinced I am the mistake, I will talk to the President (Fred Crentsil) and no problem I will leave.
“I love Phobian men and will do anything to make them happy so if they want me to leave, no problem I will go.”
Hearts’ dismal record in the second round of picking just four points out of a possible nine had led to the recent friction between the coach and the fans.
The supporters insist the coach was granted his wish of bringing in quality strikers (his main complaint in the first round) during the January transfer period and ought to deliver positive results.
The recent slump has seen arch rivals Asante Kotoko open up a significant seven-point lead at the top of the Glo Premier League.
