Participants at the maiden edition of the CAF ‘A’ License Course have welcomed the idea of the licensing of coaches of the continent.

About 40 CAF Instructors across Africa took part in the four-day course in Accra to discuss topics including the Evaluation of Practical Sessions, Equivalence Coaching System, Manuals and Contents of “A” License System and Coaching Course Teaching Methodology.

The participants argued that, as a positive development for the sport and the future of African football, coaches from the continent need to acquire the requisite knowledge and skills to lift the game.

Abdel Monein Hussein, CAF Director of Football Development explained that the aim of the course is to develop the Instructors for the elite license (License ‘A’) adding “Africa is on the right path as far as the development of coaches is concerned.”

Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, Fred Pappoe described the course as unique programme, hoping that instructors will help in the building of coaches who can rub shoulders with the rest of the world.

Resource personnel for the course were Ben Koufie (Ghana), CAF/FIFA Instructor and Malouche Belhassen (Tunisia), CAF Instructor and FIFA Technical Consultant.
