Player brutally attacked by opponents and fans during Accra Juvenile League clash

Violence erupted during a juvenile league match between Diamond Seed and Al-Jaar in the Accra North District Division One League on Saturday, March 14, 2026, leaving one player brutally assaulted on the pitch.

In a video shared by GTV SportsPlus, the chaotic scenes unfolded during the game as tensions between the two teams escalated.

According to reports from the match, a supporter of Al-Jaar, known as Budo, who has been previously associated with violent behaviour, stormed the field and attacked a player from Diamond Seed.

The situation quickly escalated as several Al-Jaar players allegedly joined in the assault, beating the Diamond Seed player mercilessly while the game descended into disorder.

In the footage circulating online, players and individuals believed to be supporters can be seen surrounding the victim as the attack unfolds.

Diamond Seed players, dressed in yellow, were left trying to protect their teammate amid the confusion, while Al-Jaar players in blue appeared to be at the centre of the confrontation.

The incident has sparked outrage among football followers, with many calling for stronger disciplinary action to curb hooliganism in grassroots football.

Acts of violence in juvenile competitions have become a growing concern for local football administrators, who continue to stress the need for discipline, safety and respect in youth development leagues.

Authorities are expected to review the incident and determine possible sanctions against those involved.
