Former Hearts of Oak winger Winful Cobbinah has revealed that Ghanaian players in the local league will always excel when they travel abroad due to the facilities available to them.
According to him, due to the fact that several clubs in the local league don’t have the right and needed logistics, players go through several challenges in their bid to give off their best to their teams.
“Playing football in Ghana is difficult because of the facilities there and anyone will agree with me that once we get these infrastructural challenges out of the way, our players will be better in terms of their output,” Cobbinah mentioned.
‘Life’ as he is known among his peers, now plies his trade with Saudi Arabian second-tier side Al-Riyadh SC, and has been an instant hit, scoring goals week in week out, an action he stressed is as a result of the facilities.
“I am not saying this to spite anyone, but due to the hardship player’s face in the local league, they will always play well when they join the exodus bandwagon. Here, we have a lot of good training facilities, and I believe it’s the same with other clubs across the world.”
“When you play on hard and robust pitches and get used to that, you will definitely excel if you happen to get a better pitch.”
