FORMER Hearts of Oak playmaker, Mohammed Ahmed Polo has thrown a big challenge to the Management and Board of the club to give him the chance to transform the club within the shortest possible time. Speaking to 90 Minutes in an exclusive interview on Monday morning, a day after Hearts had gone down heavily to F/C 105 in the MTN / CAF Champions League in Gabon, the player dubbed “the dribbling magician” in his heydays due to his wizardry on the pitch stressed that though the problem currently in Hearts of Oak might look quite herculean, he is capable of reverting the situation if he is given the chance. Polo said: “Give me one month and I will transform Hearts and all their technical problems will be a thing of the past. This is a personal challenge to the Hearts management and I want them to try me because I know I have the required pedigree to overturn the fortunes of the club”.

This is a personal challenge to the Hearts management and I want them to try me because I know I have the required pedigree to overturn the fortunes of the club”. Continuing he said “Both the management and the Board have refused to employ coaches who are capable of standing on their own and taking their own decisions and hate a coach who would oppose their ideas. That is why they have refused to get people like me involved in the running of the club even though we've made ourselves available. The players must be taken through the rudiments of the game so they would produce the needed results. As the situation stands now it seems they virtually get nothing new from the coaches that's why they cannot deliver.” Concluding Mohammed Polo said: “I am available at the moment and I know if I am brought on board, I would change the fortunes of the club and bring back the lost glories to Hearts. Though the team lost in Gabon I am throwing a challenge to the authorities to hand over the team to me and I will guide the team through to the group stages and eventually win the ultimate trophy for Hearts”.
