Hearts of Oak coach Mohammed Polo questioned the integrity of referee Fred Andoh despite his side’s 2-1 win over AshantiGold.
The Capital club needed the points to whittle down the point-gap between them and leaders Kotoko to eight.
Hearts relied on goals from Gerald Odupong Wellignton and Paul Acquah and AshGold netted a consolation from Emmanuel Osei.
But Polo was not a satisfied man and he launched a scathing attack on the centre referee for his below par performance.
“It is an important win but the referees are trying to mar the beauty of the game,” the ex-international said in a post-match interview.
“It is not good. Let us be fair to everybody so that whatever result comes it will be acceptable to all.
“AshGold played well and there is nothing wrong with that but the referees must do the right thing.”
