The Ghana Premier League resumes this weekend across the various centres in the country.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko face Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium after drawing with Inter Allies at Tema last week. Kotoko, who are second on the league table with 31 points, will have revenge on their minds after Bechem eliminated them from the FA Cup. Bechem United are 12th with 21 points.
In Sekondi, Hasaacas will take on Sergio Traguil’s Accra Hearts of Oak at the Essipong Stadium. Hearts of Oak have not enjoyed much success in the second round of the league as they lay third, with the same points haul as rivals Kotoko. Hasaacas have 21 points and lie 11th.
Current Premier League champions Ashanti Gold have been struggling this season and will face 19th placed Inter Allies at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium. Ashanti Gold have 20 points from 18 matches played so far and are 13th in the rankings. Inter Allies themselves will look to move out of the relegation zone after drawing with Kotoko last week.
Sixth-placed Liberty Professionals will host Dawu-based Dreams FC, who are 7th, and have the same points as their opponents at the Carl Reindorf Park. Liberty will be motivated by the form of forward Latif Blessing, who is the second top scorer in the league with 10 goals, and will surely count on him for some goals. The corresponding fixture in the first round ended 2-2 at the Dawu Park.
Other matches coming up this weekend will see Berekum Chelsea host Ebusua Dwarfs at the Golden City Park.
Fourth-placed Aduana Stars will face bottom club New Edubiase United while WAFA will play league leaders WA All Stars at the Sogakope Park.
