A report on Hoffenheim's official website has stated that the German Football League (DFL) has been in discussions with representatives of 1899 Hoffenheim and Prince Tagoe regarding the results of Professor Böhm's assessment of the player.

The professor, a heart specialist recommended by the German FA (DFB), concluded at the end of July that Tagoe had a heart condition which could prove dangerous should he continue playing top-level football.

Since then, the diagnosis appears to be in remission with Tagoe's heart apparently returning to its normal function. All parties are now in agreement that once Tagoe has completed his recovery phase, a second examination should be carried out. This could result in the player being allowed to return to professional football.

"The most important thing is Prince Tagoe's health. We're delighted to see that there is a possibility it could be in remission and if the results of the new tests are positive then we would be happy to integrate him back into first-team affairs," explained sporting director Jan Schindelmeiser.

"If things don't quite work out as we hope then we'll certainly be offering him a role within the club."
