Ghana international striker Prince Tagoe is set to join Swiss champions FC Basel after agreeing personal terms to a two-year deal, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 23-year-old will complete a move if his club side TSG Hoffenheim reach an agreement over his transfer fee.

GHANAsoccernet sources understand Basel are ready to meet US$ 9 million price tag.

Tagoe, who had a successful half season spell at Serbian side Partizan Belgrade, rejected a pay rise to return to Hoffenheim.

The 2010 Fifa World Cup player struggled to cope at Hoffenheim and fell down the pecking order of attackers.

“He said the Basel deal was better than what Partizan had offered and believes he can excel there.

He’s back home and will be expecting the deal to be announced soon,” A confidant told GHANAsoccernet.com

Tagoe started his career abroad after the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations when he signed for Saudi side Al Ittihad from local club Hearts of Oak.

He played for Al Shabab in the United Arab Emirates in 2007 before joining Al Ettifaq a year later.
