Former Prime Minister of Kenya, Raila Odinga has congratulated players of the Harambee stars for their shocking win over Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday.
Kenya stunned the Black Stars of Ghana after a 1-0 victory over the West African giants despite playing majority of the game with ten men.
The leader of the National Super Alliance leader, Raila Odinga was among other leaders who attended the match at Moi Sports Centre, and sent a congratulatory message after the match.
He posted on Twitter," Well done and a great show #HarambeeStars. You gave us a great weekend. Onward to the Africa Cup of Nations. Congratulations to the #BlackStars of Ghana. A great game by two great nations of Africa. Best of luck to the two teams in their next #AFCON2019q assignments ."
The win moved the team up to second spot in Group F, and are level on points with Ghana. They lost the first match 1-0 away to Sierra Leon.
Various leaders have come out to celebrate the victory, and even promising to reward the team.
Kenya will next face Ethiopia with Ghana engaging Sierra Leon in Group F of the qualifiers.
