Raja Casablanca striker Nathaniel Asamoah could be on his way out of Stade Mohamed V after joining barely two months ago from Ghanaian giants Medeama SC.
The 25-year-old signed a three-year deal, joining countrymen Awal Mohammed and Yakubu Mohammed but after four matches - two league and two cup games - Asamoah is yet to impress coach Ruud Krol, who is currently pondering the exit of the Ghanaian, according to sources.
“Raja can terminate Asamoah's contract because of his poor performance despite signing a three-year-deal,” a source close to the club told Goal.
“He has played four matches but he is yet to impress the coach after all the hype about him. Ruud Krol has given him a chance but in the last friendly match played on Wednesday the coach reportedly gave Raja president the green light to part ways with Asamoah.
“For Yakubu Mohammed, he was also poor initially but he has the confidence of the coach so he is somehow safe. Awal Mohammed is one of the best players in Raja and in the Moroccan league at the moment. He is perfect and the supporters are really in love with him.”
Goal understands that Asamoah, who scored 18 goals in the 2014-15 Ghana Premier League but lost the top scorer award on final day to Kofi Owusu, is in Ghana on holidays and is expected to sort out his future after returning to Morocco in the coming days.
